1. Tenzing-Hillary Airport (Lukla Airport)

We begin Everest Region Trekking with a short and scenic flight to Lukla Airport.
It is a 35 minutes scenic flight.  Tenzing- Hillary Airport is another name for it. It is located at the elevation of 2840 m with runway   527 m.  The airport is popular for starting the trip to Everest Base Camp. There are daily flights from Lukla to Kathmandu. We get daily flights from Kathmandu to Lukla too. The flying distance is short from Kathmandu. Sometimes,  high winds, cloud cover, and changing visibility interrupt flights. It means the flights can be delayed or the airport is closed. The airport is contained within a chain link fence and patrolled by the Nepali Armed Police or civil Police around the clock.

We get Namche Bazar via Phakding and Manjo. You cross a suspension bridge.  The trekkers climb the steep hill for an hour and get Namche. Namche Bazaar is the major trade center in entire Khumbu region of Nepal. Tibetan markets, hotels, restaurants, and groceries enriches Namche Bazar.We even can visit Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter where one can get information about it. Everest View Hotel is one of the prime attractions of Namche Bazar. It is normally windy. However, the experience is for the lifetime. Everest Base Camp is a day trekking from Gorekh Shep. There is no any guest house.
