Bimthang Manaslu Trekking is a part of Annapurna Circuit Trekking and Manaslu Circuit Trek which takes us to the Larkya La (5160m) and offers us magnificent views of mountain summits and mighty glaciers. We will experience an absolute serenity and wilderness while beating the off the beaten trails via lush forest and picturesque ethnic settlements. Bimthang is beautiful villages with local lodges and guesthouses. Exploring two serene lakes: Nayamlo and Ponker lakes fed by mighty glaciers will be an astounding experience. These two lakes are abode to ducks during summer. We follow the Marshyangdi and Dudh Khola valley passing through traditional Buddhists and Hindu settlements.

We begin our Bimthang Manaslu Trekking from Besisahar after 6-7 hours drive from Kathmandu. We do not get such luxury bus ride from Kathmndu to Besisahar. We either have to go with public bus ride or private car or jeep ride. From Besisahar, we head to Tal and then to Sotikhola. Gradually, passing through agricultural fields and lush vegetations, we get Bimthang, which is the final destination of this trekking trip. We again end our Bimthang Trekking in Besisahar and take a drive to either Pokhara or Kathmandu.

The best time of the year for Bimthang Manaslu trekking is autumn. The weather is magnificent to witness mountain panorama. There is no rain and snowfall during autumn in Nepal.

No special skills of trekking and hiking are required for Bimthang Manaslu trekking. However, prior trekking or hiking experiences will be an asset. The regular exercises, a short hiking and trekking will help you to enhance your stamina for Bimthang Trekking. Bimthang Trekking is a perfect trekking trip to have a holistic insight of both Annapurna and Manaslu Region of Nepal.

Namaste! Info Nepal Treks and Expedition heartily welcomes you to the city of temples – Kathmandu. We will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Our office representative will be there holding placard on which either client’s or company's name will be printed just opposite of the arrival and after your reception, we will drive to the hotel. After your arrival at the hotel, we fix the schedule for a short orientation meeting which gives you some general information about the trip and you will settle rest of the due payment at the same time. For this, you have to be with 3 P.P. size photographs, a copy of passport and copy of travel insurance. Overnight at hotel at in Kathmandu.

    This is the day visiting to Tour in Kathmandu is a tour of the valley which is a visit to UNESCO World Heritage sites including historical, religious and cultural importance. The sites consist of Swyombhunath (Monkey Temple), Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath stupa. The valley is prominently known as a live museum of age-old culture, history, and civilization. Even the tourist can have historical, cultural and religious insight from 200 years back. , the tour commences after your breakfast. You will have lunch during the visit and the tour ends at around 4 in the afternoon. Some of the sites were destroyed by April Earthquake and now they are being renovated. Overnight in hotel in Kathmandu. 

      We take a drive from Kathmandu to Chamje and a short walk finally takes us to Tal. We follow Prithvi highway till we ge Dumre Bazar. Then the road divides: one to Besisahar and the other to Pokhara. We follow the road to Besisahar from Dumre. We pass through hydroelectricity to get Syange from Besisahar. We follow the road along theriver and get to Jagat. The further drive from from Jagat takes us to Chamje, a beautiful valley with a bus stop. Cross the suspension bridge and walk to the east bank which finally takes us to Tal. Tal is an impressive valley with mesmerizing water fall. Overnight at lodge atTal.

        Follow the trail to the east bank of Marshyangdi River with Annapurna glacier to the north. Walk via pristine barley, wheat and potato fields before you get a long steady climb, through pines. We, now, get a dusty road. Following the raod, we walk to Dharapani. Dharapani is a busy Tibetan town. We cross the Marshyangdi River with suspension bridge and get to a beautiful Gurung Village, Tilje. We have lunch here.

        We continue our walk passing beautiful valley with oak and rhododendron to Goa. We can view Manaslu, Nadi Chuli and Himal Chuli and Annapurna II to the south. The oak and rhododendron forest becomes more dense now. The trail then ascends on a ridge. We drop down and pass the ridge of Karche. Finally, crossing a landslide takes us to Suti Khola. Overnight at lodge at Suti Khola.

          We have zig jag trails passing through Dudh valley. We also encounter with magnificent forested areas on today’s trail. We view numerous glaciers on the trail. We pass some steep sections of trail which takes us to Sangura Kharka, a yak pasture. We find some new lodges at Sangura Kharka. We have lunch here. We continue walk via forested area which takes us to Hompuk. Now, we see Bimthang Glacier. Trek via forest and pass the glacier. One further walk finally takes us to Bimthang. Overnight at lodge at Bimthang.

            After an eanrly breakfast, we venture on rocky trail behind the glacier. In early morning, the trail gets cloudy and the views are unfair.  We first get to Dangboche Kharka a at the foot of the Larkya La (Victory Peak) and Manaslu region. Next, we have rough dusty track which leads us to the confluence of three glaciers: clockwise the Kechakyu, Ponkar and Salpudanda. Later, we arrive at Ponkar Tal. We are thrilled with majestic glaciers and majestic peaks include Kang Garu (6 981m), the Chombi cone (6 704m), the Kechakyu pinnacle (6 358m), Gyalji Kang to the north (7 074m) and Nemjung (7 140m).   We also see, Larke (6 249m), the northwest faces of Manaslu (8 163m), and Phungi Himal (6 538m) in the south from the SE. We return to Bimthang for the night. Overnight  at lodge at Bimthang.

              From Bimthang, we begin backtracking. Today is the first day of backtracking to Goa. Today’s trip is all the way down till we get Goa. We still enjoy lush forest and country setting. Enjoy the wilderness and serenity on the trail to Goa. Overnight  at lodge at Goa.

                Manaslu, Nadi Chuli and Himal Chuli are dominant views on today’s trail. Also Annapurna II will continue to be visible to the south. Next, we meet the trail of Annapurna Circuit. We pass t Thonje and Dharapani. Now, we  follow the road down to Karte (1 850m) then we cross the suspension bridge to the dust free old trail which leads us  back to Tal. Further, we continue the walk to get Chamje for the night. Overnight at lodge at Chamje.

                  We take an early breakfast and take a jeep down to Besi Sahar. We have lunch at Besisahar and then transfer to a bus or car for the return journey to Kathmandu. We drive along Prithvi Highway from Dumre to Kathmandu. We will drop you to your hotel. Overnight at  hotel in Kathmandu.

                    Your Nepal stay ends today. A representative of Info Nepal Treks and Expedition will drop you to Tribhuvan International Airport three hours earlier to your scheduled flight. See you next season for another trip!
