Langtang Region Trekking
Located on the north of Kathmandu, Langtang Region is famous for its exotic scenery and culture exposed and practiced by nature and locals, respectively. The popularity of this region is increasing every year as the site offers majestic view of snow-capped peaks, flora and more importantly lakes and fauna found here. More than 100 lakes varying in size from medium to small are witnessed here.
Langtang National Park encapsulates entire Langtang Region. Manaslu—Killer Mountian (8,156m)—HimalChuli (7,893m) and Ganesh Himal (7,406m) are the prominent peaks observed on this area. LangtangLirung is another popular peak towering in Langtang Region.
From cultural perspective, Langtang Region exhibits typical Hyolmo culture followed by Tamang people. Their marriage ceremony is marked in unique manner. The tradition of stealing bride by bride groom is fascinating for an outsider like you. As per the Bureau of Statistics of Nepal, there are around 10,000 Hyolmo people residing in the area. They are one of the indigenous groups of Nepal out of 59.
Langtang Region is also popular for inhabiting endangered species of Red Panda which is also known as cat bear. Besides, snow leopard, musk deer, Himalayan black bear and pheasant are other species found here.
