After we explore Kathmandu Valley and its UNESCO World Heritage sites, Upper Dolpo Trekking commences from Juphal. We get Juphal after a short flight from Nepaljung. Before that, we fly to Nepaljung from Kathmandu. Then, we begin our trekking in the country trail via mesmerizing valleys and beautiful settlements of ethnic groups. Gradually, we get into Shey Phoksundo National Park which is an abode to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Our further ascent takes us to experience ancient Nepal Tibet trade route. Slowly, the landscapes begin to change into something like grey, brown and red. Now what we begin to celebrate is beautifully fluttering prayer flags. The views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Kanjiroba are dominant in this trekking. We soon trek through the serene and peaceful Phoksundo Lake which is really exhilarating.

We also get an opportunity to experience mystical and spiritual charms at Shey Gompa, which is an ancient monastery established in the eleventh century. We have to cross other two high passes which are the Sela (5094m) and the Jyanta pass (5221m) before our trekking descends to the Dho Tarap.
