After sightseeing of UNESCO designated heritage sites in Kathmandu, we catch a Trans-Himalayan flight to Lhasa Tibet, the forbidden land. From Lhasa, we make an overland drive over the Tibetan Plateau (the roof of the world) and encounter many picturesque mosaic of Tibetan settlements, nomadic herdsmen, ornate monasteries, high mountain passes, arid plains and great Himalayan views.
We drive to Shigatse and further drive to Lotingri where the actual trek begins. En route – We visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, Khumbum Stupa, Phalkot Monastery and other landmarks which exhibits the ancient tradition and culture of the Tibetans. We climb high up to high camp via base camp and interim camp. Though climbing is not big deal, the altitude adaptiveness might create some problem.
For Advanced Everest Base Camp Trek, we climb ahead from Everest Base Camp to Camp I admiring great views of Mount Everest, Mount Shishapangma (8,013m), the Cho Oyu Peak (8,201m) and multiple other peaks. The trail to Interim Camp (5,760m), we unlock the massive view of Pumori (7,161m), Nuptse (7,861m) and many other peaks. We further trek to Camp II located near Changtse glacier which is situated at the northern side of Everest. From Changtse Glacier, we trek to Advanced Base Camp (6,340m) moving closer to Lakpa RI (7,045m).
