Few trekking destinations of Nepal are not just trekked for adventure. They are done to get ultimate satisfaction of nature beholding its beauty in eyes forever. And, Upper Mustang is one of this types of trekking.

The destination is popular for its unique culture and traditions. Being close to Tibet, the site follows old Tibetan Buddhism also known as Bon Po. Almost all people living in this area follow Tibetan Buddhism. Tiki is the main festival of Mustangi people. The place is a perfect example of polyandry where all brothers of a family marry a girl.

The desert starting from the south of Kagbeni to Tibetan border is known as Upper Mustang. Upper Mustang is also considered as the mysterious place. The site seems like wind-swept valley where you will see ruins of monasteries and caves those are reported to be more than the 1000-year-old. Many archaeologists and explorer visit here to conduct a study on various dimensions of sociology and origin of human being.

Annapurna Conservation Area protects Upper Mustang. The conservation area covers more than 7000 square kilometres. You will arrive at the deepest gorge of the world—Dana—while experiencing this trekking. It is located in between Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The beauty of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Nilgiri is appealing for trekkers.

Namaste! Info Nepal Treks and Expedition heartily welcomes you to the city of temples – Kathmandu. We will meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Our office representative will be there holding placard on which either client’s or company's name will be printed just opposite of the arrival and after your reception, we will drive to the hotel. After your arrival at the hotel, we fix the schedule for a short orientation meeting which gives you some general information about the trip and you will settle the rest of the due payment at the same time. For this, you have to be with 3 P.P. size photographs, a copy of passport and a copy of travel insurance.

    This is the day visiting to Tour in Kathmandu is a tour of the valley which is a visit to UNESCO World Heritage sites including historical, religious and cultural importance. The sites consist of Swyombhunath (Monkey Temple), Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath stupa. The valley is prominently known as a live museum of age-old culture, history, and civilization. Even the tourist can have historical, cultural and religious insight from 200 years back. , the tour commences after your breakfast. You will have lunch during the visit and the tour ends at around 4 in the afternoon. Some of the sites were destroyed by the April Earthquake and now they are being renovated. Overnight in hotel. 

      Early in the morning, we will catch the flight to Jomsom. It takes around 20 minutes to land in Jomsom. The scenic beauty observed from the comfort of the flight is very nice and pleasant. We start walking towards Kagbeni from Jomsom. Walking on the bank of Kali Gandaki River we reach EklaiBhatti. Here we take rest for few hours. The, we again start our trek to Kagbeni—windswept valley. Kali Gandaki River originates here at Kagbeni. It is a confluence where KakKhola originating in Muktinath meets Mustang Khola making Kali Gandaki.

      Overnight in Kagbeni

        There is a checkpoint at Kagbeni where the officers check our special trekking to Upper Mustang. Tangbe village is our next destination. Crossing a river we reach Chele.

        Overnight in Chele

          It is going to be a bit hard walk. We have to climb until we reach Taklam La Pass. From here we descend to arrive at a village, Samar. Syanbochen is three hours away from Samar.

          Overnight in Syanbochen

            Following ascending trail we arrive Yamda La. Climbing Nyi Pass and getting down will get us in Ghyami.

            Overnight in Gyami

              Crossing GhyamiKhola and Mani wall we proceed. The site is in the influence of Tibetan area and it is easily observed here. The place is near from the Tibetan border. At the end of Mani wall, we come at Charang village. The attractions of Charang are White Dzong and Red Gompa.

              Overnight in Charang

                It is a beautiful walk of your life. You will be walking in one of the wonderful sites full of natural beauty. While on the way you will witness Annapurna I, Nilgiri, Tilicho and Bhrikuti Peak. Now we will follow downhill track till we get in Lo Pass. It is a point from you can get an acute view of Lo-Mangthang Valley.

                Overnight in Lo-Mangthang

                  It is a kind of leisure day. While on trekking this type of rest is essential for trekkers as it reduces the chances of being arrested by high altitude sickness. It helps to adjust your body to increasing elevation and this is known as acclimatization.

                  Despite rest day, we will be exploring the local area visiting Gompas like Namgyal and Tingkhar. NamgyalGompa is a kind of local court here. If fortunate enough or weather supports then we will also visit ChampaLakhang or God House.

                  Overnight in Lo-Mangthang

                    As usual, our trail begins after breakfast. We get in Gyakar followed by Drakmar.

                    Besides natural beauty, GharGompa and Guru Rinpoche are the main attractions of this destination. The rock painting at GharGompa is very popular. This Gompa is more than 1200 years old.

                    Overnight in Dhakmar

                      It is a nice nature walk. We will be walking for more than five hours to arrive at Ghiling. Overnight in Ghiling

                        Today you will get a nice view of the mountains. The trail is rich in natural beauty pleasing the trekkers like you since eternity.

                        Overnight in Chhuksang

                          It is going to be long hour trail today. Starting to walk from early morning we halt at Kagbeni. This we do in order to avoid wind which blows at Kagbeni afternoon. We lunch at Kagbeni. We further move to reach Jomsom.

                          Overnight in Jomsom

                            Early in the morning, we catch a flight to Pokhara. You will enjoy the flight and the surrounding sighted outside the flight for 20 minutes.

                            In Pokhara, you will get ample time to stroll around. You will visit a few places like Fewa Lake, Davis Fall, Mahendra Cave and other sites too. You can enjoy boating at Fewa Lake.

                            Overnight in Pokhara

                              After breakfast, we will be driving to Kathmandu. You will be riding through Prithvi Highway enjoying countryside Nepal. The will ride along the way of Trishuli River.

                              Here in the capital, you get ample of time to roam around especially, on the streets of Thamel. If you arrive Kathmandu earlier, you will have plenty of time to explore more of Kathmandu or simply search for gifts and souvenirs.

                              In the evening, you will enjoy farewell dinner and exchange your experience of the entire trip with us.

                                Your Nepal stays end today. A representative of Info Nepal Treks and Expedition will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport three hours earlier to your scheduled flight.
