Although the destination lies in close proximity of Kathmandu valley, it offers the most incredible nature walk around the valley. Another fascinating aspect of the hike is the stupendous view of the valley and mountains from the top. While you stand atop the Nagarjun hill, the valley looks below you. The giant Swoyambhunath stupa looks a tiny shrine from the top like rest of the other buildings and monuments. But the view of the valley is simply astonishing in addition to the view of mountains. Itinerary for Nagarjun Hiking
Since it’s a day Nagarjun hiking trip, it does not have any overnight stay. The day hiking starts after an early breakfast at your hotel. We will have to drive for about 20 minutes to Phulbari gate past Balaju to enter Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. We check into the park and start walking steeply up the hill for about three hours. The walk goes up the hill through the lush forest of the park.
Once we reach the top and if the weather is good enough, we will be able to enjoy the views of the valley and mountains. We will explore a small monastery and the surroundings at the top. After enjoying quite a great time at the peaceful top of Nagarjun hill, we hike back down for about two hours and drive back to the hotel.
